Cambridge University + CoP

Early July, we held one of our first very engaging Community of Practice events. It was a collaborative exchange with Fair Forward, University of Cambridge AI graduate students and notable professionals from diverse spaces such as University of Nairobi, MIT and THiNK.

One significant topic was about striking a balance between commercial and social applications of AI in Kenya.

Distinguishing between Open and Closed AI.

The role of policy and digital natives.

We largely concluded that we can all use AI for good and harness it for much needed sustainable development and uplifting the marginalised, especially if we are intentional.

Please sign up and subscribe to our community of practice (CoP) and join us to become a force for good: Cop.think.ke/

It is our vision to be a safe community of professionals and enthusiasts who are passionate about the use of technology for the betterment of society, with a particular emphasis on Global South communities that have historically been marginalised. At the same time this is a collaborative effort that is driven to be inclusive to peoples of diverse nations, origins and socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
