The Women & Safety Botathon was nothing short of inspiring! This special edition of our hackathon series marked the eleventh BOTATHON hosted by Tech Innovators Network – THiNK, as part of our recently concluded Women & Safety Month.

At the heart of the event was the launch of the SHE Bot — Secure • Human • Empowered, a groundbreaking AI chatbot designed to spark innovation around women’s safety. 💡✨ With the ability to converse in French, Kiswahili, and English, SHE Bot offers a safe, accessible, and empowering platform for women and communities to engage on issues that matter. The Botathon brought together brilliant minds from across the region to co-create AI solutions tackling real-world challenges in women’s safety — from reporting mechanisms and emergency support systems to mental health resources and awareness tools.

One of the proudest highlights? 67% of participants were women. This made the hackathon not just about women’s safety, but also powered by women innovators themselves.
